This is an exciting step for the District’s Biomass Utilization Project, as another step forward for utilizing biomass for electricity is complete. A load center was connected to the Power Pallet with 220 and 210 volt receptacles and battery storage. The Power Pallet uses biomass and creates renewable natural gas to run the engine of a generator. This project is an undertaking with the Sierra National Forest and Cal Fire to find ways to utilize the forest debris piles from the tree mortality crisis, instead of open burning. By utilizing the Power Pallet we can significantly reduce emissions up to 95% and have a productive use of biomass.
