Sierra RCD is excited to welcome Husandeep Singh to the team as our new Agriculture and Rangeland Community Projects Manager. In this role, Husandeep supports farmers by providing assistance with funding opportunities, conducting soil assessments, and offering tailored conservation recommendations to help improve farm productivity and sustainability. He also attends community workshops to connect with farmers and better understand their unique challenges.

Husandeep grew up on a small family farm in India, where he helped grow rice and wheat. Experiencing firsthand the difficulties of farming, such as unreliable irrigation, extreme weather, and limited market access, sparked his interest in protecting the environment and supporting sustainable agriculture.

He moved to the U.S. in 2021 and began a master’s in public administration at Fresno State, before transferring to Clark University in Massachusetts, where he completed a master’s in environmental science and policy. His academic background combines policy analysis, urban planning, and environmental governance, with a deep personal understanding of agricultural life.

Motivated by his upbringing and a desire to serve farming communities, Husandeep is eager to contribute to the Central Valley, an area he already feels at home in. His ability to speak Punjabi, Hindi, and English helps him connect with diverse growers and ensure their voices are heard.

Husandeep is very excited to deepen his knowledge of orchard farming in the Fresno region and to learn from local agricultural advisors, so he can share research-based practices that benefit both farmers and the land they care for.
